When I first became a mother I had no idea that God had established a way for me to learn about being a wife and mom. I felt alone and that I had to reinvent the wheel. I did everything on my own and alone. My own mother just didn't think I needed any help and my mother in law just thought my mother had taught me. Both were wrong and of course I didn't ask for help because I thought I was the only woman out there with no clue how to raise a child. After the birth of our second daughter I realized with two girls I needed to teach them something and I didn't know where to turn. Some more years passed and after a year and a half in public school we discovered homeschooling. It was more than a blessing to our family in educational choices- we became involved in a homeschool group with older ladies who DID teach the younger women to love their husband and children and be keepers at home! That was a decade ago. I now have teenage daughters who are learning from me and other ladies. We moved away from that community to the country and I miss my sweet fellowship and encouragement.

God chose me and my husband to be the mommy and daddy of three special needs children. I am so belssed to have a husband who is understanding and supportive and who lives "on the same page" as me. We have been through many valley and reached many glorious peaks through the last 14 years of parenting together. We are now a homeschooling family and I pray that I trust God to fully equip us to grow these children for his glory. I have SO many good intentions, but I allow my perfectionism and frustration to push good intentions aside. I have a vision for raising our family that never seems to come close to happening. I pray that God will either get me moving toward that vision if it is in line with His will or to change my vision to something realistic and help me reach a point of contentment. I pray that I would lose my bent toward slothfulness and be an example of Godly living before the eyes of my family. I seem to be so good at meeting the needs of those outside our home and feel like my family is not getting my very best. I love them all deeply and fear that I am disappointing them as I continue to disappoint myself. I want to let go of the need to keep everything so organized that we cannot have fun as a family. I do not want the memories of our children to be that of a grumpy mom, so often dissatisfied with her surroundings.

Something about motherhood: If I'm honest, I struggle with patience with my little ones, and sacrificing my time for theirs. The Lord is showing me how to walk faithfully with those struggles. On the flip side, I never knew how much I could love someone so much, until I became a mother.

It makes so much sense to have things for the kids to SEE, instead of parents trying to follow through on some rule they have randomly set in place. I can see these items being a huge benefit with our children.

motherhood as a ministry is an enormous privilege. The importance of 'getting it right' and the impact that raising my children will have on generations to come, added to the strength of the complete opposite influences from the world make raising daughters (teenage and younger) the most difficult and challenging thing I will ever do.

One thing that I really like about motherhood is the oppurtunities that I have to influence my children for God. So much stuff around us competes to take their eyes off of God-as a mother I can look for ways to point them back to the one opinion that really matters-God's.

I am so blessed to be a stay-at-home and homeschool mom to my three children. The past few years have been both difficult and the most blessed. Sites like this (True Christian Motherhood, A Wise Woman, etc.) help me in my daily journey, reminding me I'm not alone and encouraging me to turn to God in all things.

I love my children with all my heart, but motherhood is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life! God has been slowly working with me to accept the fact that being a mother really is important and not just "staying at home".

A comments about motherhood... it isn't for sissies!! LOL

To tell the truth I struggle with guarding my time. I can see by the chapters in your e-book that there will be much to challenge and encourage me in my mothering pursuit.

I visited Victorian Rose Soap Company. So bummed that they didn't have any more of the horse-shaped soap in the children's section. So cute!
