Gaining a Quiet Perspective in the Home

Some days are those days that you need to seek a quietness.

A rest for your weary soul.

And you don't need to seek it outside of your home.

You can find that quietness right there.

When the world around you races and the busy rat race swirls all around

You can pause.

Take a deep breath.

Exhale.

Pull out the Word.

That gives real rest to the soul.

Light a candle.

Slowly linger to watch it flicker.

Put on some calm and soothing music.

Pour a cup of something that will warm your heart.

Go into a quiet room and be still.

Be quietly still.

And listen.

Offer up a silent prayer to the One who knows.

The One who hears.

The One who sees.

The One who loves you and has not forsaken you.

Hear His voice speak to you...

and remind you of His love.

And open up your eyes---

And truly see Him.

Be comforted by His rest.

And all His quiet blessings that abound.

I love this idea, and NEED it so desperately, yet in our home of 4 special needs children, noise is ALL around me, ALL the TIME!!! Desperately seeking a way to find some quiet time that doesn't involve being up in the middle of the night!-

Noise is around me all the time too and I am grateful for times when I can find silence and reflect on God's goodness. It is so necessary for my overall well-being and for a peaceful home as well! Thanks for sharing. :)
