How to Help Feed Hungry Children with the "Hunger Is" Program

As a family we are always on the lookout for ways that we can extend a helping hand to those who are in need--especially children. Since we have nine children of our own, we know how much goes into feeding them nutritious meals and can only imagine what it would be like if we were not able to.

But did you know that thousands of children go to sleep with out eating a meal?

FACT: One in five children in America live in households without consistent access to adequate food.

That is why we are sharing about the Hunger Is program today that is hosted by Albertsons/ Safeway stores.

The Hunger Is program was designed to bring relief and help hungry children and their families in America.  It is a very worthy cause and quite easy to take part in.


There are two simple ways you can help a hungry child:

1. You can go to a participating store and give a donation while you are checking out. (Note: check first to see if you location offers this option.)

2. You can visit a local Albertson/Safeway store and purchase selected products that give a portion to Hunger Is.

This is a picture that my twin son, Christian, (shown below) took of me holding one of the Hunger Is products, O Organics Raisin Bran cereal.  I think he did a good job for just being nine.

He helped me fill the cart with items we started to find. 

How did that box of Fruit Loops get in there?

The way you can tell what product to get is they will have the blue labels and state that they are one of the Hunger Is Campaign items. See them above?

And this one was mine!  Chocolate?  Yes!  Gluten free?

 I am not sure, but I might be willing to take the chance!
