In Honor of the Brave

Greater love has no one than this,
that someone lay down his life for his friends.

John 15:13

A big thank you to the brave men who sacrificed and gave everything for us.
A special prayer goes out to the all the families who have lost a brave soldier and that they may be comforted by the Lord today.

My Dad has this framed in his office. I just called him to say thank you for his service to our country and that I was proud to say that he served. He got choked up and said thanks, cause it was a hard time. He was in the Vietnam War and remembered coming home from the war and people spitting on the soldiers. =( Thanks for the simplicity of this post. We went to the Vietnam Memorial and several of the other sites in that area and this is a breathtaking memorial to see in person. Thank you to all the men and women who fought and do fight for our freedom. We appreciate YOU!

Dear Cooperkelly4,

My father fought in the Vietnam War too and his friend was shot to death sitting in front of him in a plane. He never liked to talk about the war but I knew it must have been very traumatizing.

We have many men in our family who have served in the military and we appreciate the fact that they were willing to lay down their lives.

I love this picture too and it is a powerful reminder of what was sacrificed.

Many blessings...

My FIL was a prisioner of war in Japan for two years in WWII. He was very traumatized by it and so was my Grandpa Andrew who's ship was destroyed and they waited in the water for hours for a rescue. God Bless all our troops.

Freedom is not free and was paid for with the blood of our service people.

It is good to remember and thank those in the military and their families waiting for them at home. A special thanks to the women overseas too. Your service may not be in the home right now but it is no less valuable and I recognize and thank you for your sacrifice.

Blessings.
