My First Vlog

Hello sweet friends and Happy Monday!

I wanted to share a video of myself (yes, this is my first vlog) with a personal message to you. I normally don't do videos and am a very private person, but I thought I would push myself out of my comfort zone to extend a warm greeting to you all!

(Note: please turn off the music at the bottom of the blog before viewing)
If you cannot view this video click here.

This is not the first video I ever made though--the first one I ever made was for my friend, Sarah Mae. She had asked me to make a video to open the Relevant Conference (now Allume) a few years ago and so I did (very unsure of myself, I might add! My daughters convinced me to do it! :))

So I hope you enjoy it and PLEASE--don't make too much fun of me after you see it!

Love to you all!

It's lovely to hear your voice and your accent June. I wonder what people would think if they heard my accent or if indeed they could even understand me! My week has already begun because of the time difference and it seemed like such an ordinary Monday when nothing that exciting happened or so it seemed to me, so how wonderful to hear from you directly, reminding us of the eternal value of the work we do in building our homes for the Lord. Most of the women I know work outside the home. We are the only homeschooling family at church. There are no family integrated churches here thus I sometimes 'feel alone in my thinking' and in the choices we have made in areas such as education and the culture of the family home but at your blog I discover there are others out there who share the same values and concerns, who think along the same lines and I am greatly encouraged by this and by what you share in your posts. I sometimes wish though, that there were women like yourself right here in my neighbourhood and not on the other side of the world or in other states of my own country. But hearing you speak today it did sort of feel like you were right there in the room so thank you for taking the time to do this. It was truly appreciated.

Dear Ann,

How kind of you to leave such a sweet comment! I didn't know that I had an accent, and now I am wondering where on earth I got it from!

To be honest with you, I was a bit nervous when hitting the publish button. I am not one who is a "natural" speaker or being on camera! I am so glad that you felt I was in the room there with you, because I DO hope to reach out to the many of my sweet online friends who read and visit this blog.

Ann, my heart goes out to you. Know that you are not alone and the Lord is always with you. I know He has you there for a reason--to be a light for His glory.

If you are ever stateside, we will have to connect!

Many blessings...

Dear June,
I recently stumbled upon your blog and I have been so very, very blessed by it. It has raised the bar for me and has brought me much encouragement. You are a wise woman and I thank the Lord for your ministry. Your vlog this morning (Monday, South African time) came at the right time and your words were, again, timeous and a great encouragement. Last night my dear son and I had an awful argument and I feel so discouraged and ashamed today because I didn't have the control I'd hoped to have and added to that I was quite harsh. The words you therefore chose to use in your vlog, though clearly from your heart, seemed to be from the heart of the Lord to me. May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you and to make His face to shine upon you. Blessing, Jackie

What a blessing to hear your sweet kind tender voice . I'm a full time caretaker for my inlaws and to hear you speak of our Lords truth and your encouragement was truly a great reminder for the task ahead of me today in the words you spoke on. Thank you very much for your courage to reach out to others through our lord. God speed.

What an encouraging way to start the week! Your video was such a blessing , and is just the motivation I needed. We have 3 under 3 right now, and I'm finding the hymn "I need Thee Every Hour" to be my battlecry as I strive to bless my husband and children and make a peaceful home. Your words are so sweet and filled with wisdom; thank you for taking time to write this blog and make this video!

Dear June,

I miss your voice! I am thankful you made this video for us. I remember when we had our consult for blogging and you were such an encouragement to me then as you are today. I would love to see more videos of you, sharing your heart and living out Titus 2 for those of us who have no "real life" mentors. I so enjoy reading your blog and the wisdom you share, but THIS is nourishment as well for the hungry!

Thank you for coming out of your comfort zone.

Hugs!

Ann, you are not alone, sister. I am making the same decisions about homeschooling and homebuilding via the "titus 2 mandate," that June spoke of, even at the dismay and criticism of most of our family, yet we are not making them on the basis of pride or self-reliance. We are kingdom-thinkers. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for -- we do things in faith out of heavenly obedience -- knowing our reward is in heaven (yet we are rewarded here, too, oftentimes). I always have to remember that suffering for the gospel is a NORM for all those who wish to live a Godly life. Bless you today, June and Ann. Baby steps is right, June.

What a blessing to see and hear you speak, June... I feel like I got to "know you" a little. What translated through the camera is sweetness and sincerity. And, by the way, you have a great speaking voice! I would love it if you did more vlogs.

Blessings to you this week!

Dear Jackie,

How wonderful to "meet" you on my blog and thanks so much for leaving a comment. You know, we all fail at times with our children, we just need to pray and ask the Lord to show us to do what is right.

There have been times when I have had to ask for forgiveness (we are all just sinners after all) and do what it takes to rectify a relationship. It is all a learning process but the Lord gives us grace and wisdom to do it all for His glory! I will be praying for you and hope that you come back and visit again soon!

Many blessings..

Thank you for this lovely little video. What a happy way to start a Monday.

I read your testimony, June, and I was inspired.

Ann- I have been in your situation before. We have been at a family integrated church for a year now, and it is a blessing, but the Lord used all those years to keep me drawn close to Him and at His Feet. He specializes in "feeding His Sheep" when there are no true Pastors around to do it!
I will add that this is really true....my dh is not a believer. I have been praying for him for 17 years. Many years he had no interest in going to church, or was happy in the compromised (dead) ones. It's been a hard, lonely road, but He is so faithful to carry us and our little lambs when there is no one else to help!

Blessings to you all!

Dear June,
Thank you for your sweet message!! What an encouragement to all mothers! And you sounded great! I stumbled onto your website after a friend had posted your ebook on facebook and I've read it too. I can't tell you how grateful I am of your blog, your book, your daily messages. Because of these I have more peace and joy because I have a closer relationship with God than I ever did before....Thank you! You are a blessing and making a difference in women's lives!

Peace and Blessings!
~Shannon
