New Year Plans 2012

I always get excited around this time of year because I get to plan. I am a notorious planner by nature (even though I have mellowed over the years) and when the New Year comes around the gears kick in, pen and paper come out and I am dreaming of what next year could look like.

A Wise Woman Builds Her Home had an amazing year last year--we launched our first ebook, True Christian Motherhood which had made it to Amazon's bestseller list, we contributed to the hot newly released book, Queen of the Home: Essays, Poetry and Quotes on the Honor, Power and Nobility of Biblical Womanhood, now available at Amazon, we grew our blog consulting service Wise Woman Consulting, was asked to speak as a keynote at a blogging conference, we gained ownership of the popular blog, Raising Homemakers, a new church planted unfolded,  blog readership doubled, a TCM discussion group was launched of over 300 women who came together and learned about motherhood, and so much more. But *truly* the greatest experience has been being able to see lives transformed to His image. To see women encouraged and passing down a godly legacy, now THAT is what I love to see!

So what do I have on the agenda this year? I am sure you would love to see my notes--they are quite exciting I assure you. But the greatest thing on my list, I must say is that I want to spend more time in my home caring for my children.

What, you say, don't you already stay home and do that? Yes, I do, but my heart actually longs for more. I want more time with my children--reading books, playing games, teaching, engaging in heart to hearts, and all the glorious revelry that goes with it.

I remember as I was nearing the end of finishing all the work that went into True Christian Motherhood, it was a lifetime dream realized that I had waited 30 years to accomplish--to finally write a book! What did I find myself doing? I was staring out my window thinking about how much I was looking forward to just spending MORE time with my children after the book launch.

Times have changed and this momma is different. This momma wants a heavy dose of home, family life, legacy-leaving and CHRIST.  This is what I would like to see in 2012.

Yes, I have other big plans, but this will guide it all.

To God be the glory!

I want to spend time loving my husband and my children, while devoting more time to quiet time with my Lord.

I think that is just a wonderful goal! I have lots of goals, too, but many of them are things that I need to learn to wait for! Things that only God can do for us! I just have to be obedient! We are still working on adopting...we have no idea what that will end up looking like! We are trusting in God to lead the way, but we are sooooo hoping that we will have a new little person...or middle size person...to love and nurture this time next year!!
Blessings,
Beth

I couldn't have said it better myself!! The Lord must be working on many of us. After a year of making a DVD, writing an ebook, making more videos for Sarah Mae's ebook and blogging on several different sites... I thought the very same thing many times: "I just want to be Mom."
Thank you June!!

Very well written! I think we can all agree that we need MORE time with our families....even as stay at home Moms. :)

Yes, I agree with you. Even though I am here, I want to be really, really focused on "Here and now".

I noticed the special on wise woman consulting for $80, but when I click on it, the price is still $100. How do I get the special?
Also, is the 2 payment option available with this special?

Thank you,
Tammy

Ah, what a wonderful goal. I want to thank you for your encouraging blog. It's so hard to find encouragement for our jobs as homemakers and mothers. Just the other day a little boy relative in my husband's extended family asked me if I had a job. My husband told him that I work in our home. The little boy rolled his eyes as if to diminish that role. (His mom works outside the home full time.) This little boy is only 7 years old and is learning that the role of homemaker and mother is not a worthy one. It made me feel so sad.
