Japan Update!

I am happy to announce that my grandmother and aunt are doing fine! My mother was in touch with them and their home is still standing but there is alot of debris all around it. Thank you so much for your prayers, inquiries and support! They have been comforting and meant so much at such a very troubling time. Here is an image of a boat washed ashore in their town:

As many of you know, Japan has suffered three major disasters--an devastating earthquake and tsunami and now a looming nuclear threat. Please continue to pray for them. We have asked my mother to come and join us in the states to live until the threat has passed--she is still considering whether or not she will.

Please pray for the Japanese people, to overcome all of this and seek the Lord as their Savior. Right now they are suffering also with a dwindling amount of food, water, medical supplies, etc.  If you are able to donate to help them here are some places you may do that at:

Thanks so much!

And for those who have contacted me to let me know you have friends and family there
I am still praying for them.

I'm also very glad that your mother was able to get in touch and verify the safety of your grandmother and aunt.

My husband and I had a student from Japan stay with us while he was going to school. He returned to Tokyo about a year ago. I remember when the bird flu hit San Diego (where we lived at the time) Our student, "Tomohisa" was so afraid that he went out and bought masks. He noticed that our family didn't and we weren't fearful about it so he calmed down. Now I think of him in Japan and how frightened he must be as there is no one there to calm his fears.
I have not been able to get in touch with him. Please pray for
Tomohisa Fujiwara.

Thank you!
Shay

Mrs. Fuentes,

I am glad that you were able to get in contact with your grandmother and aunt. It's a blessing to know that they were not hurt. I pray that they will come live with you so they will be out of harms-way.

I will continue to pray for the Japanese people as well. This is quite a scary disaster for everyone!

Blessings,

-LR

Dear Mrs Fuentes

My family and I are very happy to hear that your relatives are safe.. and what a miracle that their home was left standing.. Praise God!

We are continuing to pray and today, Friday, has been set aside as a day of prayer, fasting and reparation to our Lord. We are hoping to be joined by others in a prayer chain.

God bless

Hello !! I am happy to hear the praise and not to pry into your family situation but I had wondered if I need to pray not only for their safety and well being but for your grandmothers and aunts salvation as well ..... I felt the need in heart to ask this the very day I saw the news ....praising the LORD for sparing their lives and their home !!
