When Life Gets Tough

There are those days...

and then there are THOSE days...

You know, when everything seems to be going wrong.

There's not enough money.

The children are not listening.

The housework never seems caught up.

You get more bad news.

You might be swimming in bills and debt.

Your husband, bless his heart, is trying his best and you can only find room to criticize.

You are faaaaaarrrrrr from the Lord.

You might not think you are, but you are.

You might think that because you are talking to Him all the time that you are close---but are you really?

Where is your heart?

Your heart, my dear sister?

Because I want  you to know that you are not alone.

And there are many of you out there that are sharing the same hurt and pain.

The same struggles and the same fears.

If I could just reach out through this screen and give you a big hug.

And tell you that everything is going to be okay.

And that it will be.

He has you covered.

Fully covered.

Magnificiently covered.

And He loves you, even when you don't love yourself.

When you are at your ugliest and at your worst.

So 'fight hard and hold fast'.

Don't give up.

Put your faith in the Great Provider.

You are in the Father's arms.

And though you might not realize it....

It is a wonderful place to be.

Thank you for this! I received some very terrible news today, and it feels like I've been drowning in frustrations for the past two weeks.

It is very funny, but I was thinking about your blog today, and wondering why you never posted about the bad days. I know that sounds terrible and pessimistic, but I mean it in the best of ways. Sometimes it helps to hear that everyone has bad days/weeks/months/years, even though I already know it. It was just another reminder that God's timing is always perfect, and I thought it was so refreshing to see this on your blog.

Thanks for your wonderful, womanly Godly advice and statements, I always enjoy reading your thoughts. :)

Thank you for this :) Many hurting people out there, Ive been there too. Being so backed into the wall, I had only He & it is Him that brings us through & back to where He wants us. I thank God for that dependence on Him! Many lessons learned! The pressure is on when we are far from Him. He will allow it & it will squeeze us. Only when we return to Him will we find rest.

It is a blessing to know of others who are praying for one in need & are holding them up before the Lord. If we could only do this for one another.

Thank you for this....

Rejoicing In Him, Patrizia

Dear Ladies,

I know there are SO MANY of you who are going through tough times. My heart is with each and every one of you. It is so hard to share our true feelings and hardships sometimes publicly. We often hold so much in and carry the burdens ourselves---ALONE.

We need to remember truth--we are not alone. He is with us. That is powerful truth.

Truth that gives us the strength to carry on...

It's always a pleasure to read your blog.

As a Christian wife and mother, I am learning that we don't need to "fight hard". On the other hand, we need to stand and REST in Jesus' finished work. For me, the more I fight and try to resolve an issue on my own, the worse it gets. when I learn to rest and wait upon the Lord, He brings the solution with wisdom, peace and joy. :)

It's wonderful to know that He is always with us, He never leaves or forsakes us, no matter how great the mess. No matter if the mess was created on our own or on purpose. His Grace is always present to restore, to forgive, to receive us.

I have come to understand the Prodigal story and some many other stories from the Bible in a complete different way when I finally saw that God is Love as you read in I Corinthians 13.

Blessings,

Dear Tereza,

I was wondering if someone would misunderstand that line. I wholeheartedly agree with the resting part and hope that was conveyed---however, what I meant by fighting hard was against the lies and discouragement that came come in these situations because it can become very overwhelming and many do not know it is happening or how to properly handle it.

Many blessings...

Thank you so much for this! This has been a very difficult time for my husband and I financially, and yesterday it boiled over into one of "THOSE" days for me. I can't stand when you get to that point that you're saying and doing things that you can see are hurting your family, but you feel so lost and out of control that you don't know how to make it all just stop. I prayed my little heart out yesterday because I saw what I was doing, but was continuing to do it, why, why do I continue when I see it playing out like that?
God blessed me with the most wonderful husband who he sent home early yesterday (even though financially we can't afford a day like that) right in my time of need. God always uses him to pick me up when I fall, even when my attitude and words are hurting him. I am so grateful for God's mercy and love on "THOSE" days. Thank you for your post.

Oh, how I needed to hear these words today. Yesterday was crazy for me. My daughter wasn't cooperating at all with her math, our finances are bleak and I was just so tired. I beat myself up all evening and prayed like crazy about all of these things. I desperately needed this encouragement. Thanks.
