When you are forgotten, or neglected, or purposely set at naught, and you don't sting and hurt with the insult or the oversight, but your heart is happy, being counted worthy to suffer for Christ.
~THAT IS DYING TO SELF~
When your good is evil spoken of, when your wishes are crossed, your advice disregarded, your opinions ridiculed, and you refuse to let anger rise in your heart, or even defend yourself, but take it all in patient, loving silence.
~THAT IS DYING TO SELF~
When you lovingly and patiently bear any disorder, any irregularity, any unpunctuality, or any annoyance; when you stand face-to-face with waste, folly, extravagance, spiritual insensibility-and endure it as Jesus endured.
~THAT IS DYING TO SELF~
When you are content with any food, any offering, any climate, any society, any raiment, any interruption by the will of God.
~THAT IS DYING TO SELF~
When you never care to refer to yourself in conversation, or to record your own good works, or itch after commendations, when you can truly love to be unknown.
~THAT IS DYING TO SELF~
When you can see your brother prosper and have his needs met and can honestly rejoice with him in spirit and feel no envy, nor question God, while your own needs are far greater and in desperate circumstances.
~THAT IS DYING TO SELF~
When you can receive correction and reproof from one of less stature than yourself and can humbly submit inwardly as well as outwardly, finding no rebellion or resentment rising up within your heart.
~THAT IS DYING TO SELF~
Are you dead yet?
In these last days, the Spirit would bring us to the cross.

My husband just preached on this very same thought yesterday ~ so timely. We must die to self in our covenant with Him, in our families, in our churches. It's not always easy to do; so often my flesh gets in the way! Thank you for reiterating a word that must be for me ~

Good morning, June.
This ministered to me so much!!!
Thank you.
May the Lord lift you up and prosper everything you do. May His favor pour down and wash you with His presence.
May you be exalted among the nations b/c He delights in obedience.
He delights in you!!!!
P.S. you don't have to print this - I wanted to share this blessing with you b/c it was on my heart to do so.
You have blessed me with your constant example of excellence.
The post today was timely; a true setting of silver...
Oh ~yes I have to remember to die to self often.
When I was a young girl I worked on a bus route ~my bus captain said this all the time. Thank you for reminding me of some sweet memories!
You have a wonderful day.
Great Post!
Christmas Blessings~
Carrie
A very humbling reminder. I'm not dead yet.
Thank you!
beautiful!
Wow. I needed this today. No, I am not dead yet.
Thank you for your thoughts on "Dying to Self". They are just what I needed to hear. I like the way you presented it. ☺
Very convicting...reminds me of Amy Carmichael's "If..."
Very true.
I came to this blog because a friend of mine has it linked on her blog.
She suggested I look at some of the feminine blogs. I was not raised by a Mom who is feminine, she is very tom-boy, and wanted me to be so, but I am not. As I have gotten older, and sought out more on femininity, she has become more okay with it. I have a very dear friend, an evangelists wife, who has been training me more. I am always interested in learning how to become more feminine. I can do a little sewing by hand, and some other things, but I am afraid I do greatly lack the skills I need.
I do not ask for this to be posted, if you want to you can, but I would like if I could have you, or someone who maybe would be willing to talk with me some could contact me. My email adress is lillamb87@gmail.com.
Thank you,
Raych
This is a humbling reminder to me also. Thanks!
June, Thank you so much for this. I really, really needed this today and it really ministered to me. Of course, your blog always does minister to me, but today was especially ministering for me.
God bless you - Julie
Wow....I am humbled and convicted. I would like to print this out to place into my journal and my daughter's journal that I am making for her. Can I?
A good post.
I would be grateful if you could contact me.

Thank you,

Dear Naomi,
Of course you can!
Many blessings...
Oh, I'm not there and ashamed to admit it. and yet the Lord is patient and loving, ever waiting for us to dethrone self and put Him there. Thank you for this :o)
God bless you.
I think it must be an ongoing process to die to self. I am certainly not dead yet but still dying. One day I will be with Christ himself who truly died for all of us.
The lord always gives us what we need at just the right time. Thank you for being available to be His vessel! I really needed this today.
Oh my. What a long way I have to go. It's easy to say I want to live to Christ, but... the outworking of that will be that 'I die to self'. There is much of 'self' still in this heart of mine. With Paul, I can say, 'The good that I would, I do not, and the good that I would not - that I do.'
Praise be to God that His redemption is total, and that my righteousness is not my own, but Another's - even Christ Jesus'.
Thanks for posting x
What a blessing these words are. They are like a tool, used in the right hands, to shape us into glory!
The Lord has been so good to me and has been teaching me so much, lately.
And one of those things, that's most important, is the keeping of His Commandments.
And that, that is how we show our love for Him.
2 John 1:6 " And this is love, that we walk after His commandments"
This post came in a very timely manner in my life. God is just amazing! Thank you for this beautiful post. I'm following your blog now...
