Author Anne Ortlund came to this conclusion about the Proverbs 31 woman:
"I noticed that twenty-two verses [of Proverbs 31]
describe this woman's kindness, godliness, hard work, loving relationships--
and only one verse out of the twenty-two [verse 22] describes how she looked...
seeing this kind of proportion in Proverbs 31...
I prayed 'O Father, I want to give 1/22 of my time to making myself as outwardly beautiful as I can;
and I want to give all the rest of my time, 21/22 of my life, to becoming wise, kind, godly, hard-working, and the rest.'"

I love her book "Disciplines of a Beautiful Woman" and have referred back to it many times over the years! I definitely still have areas that God is working in, but have seen a huge change since God started this work in me 21 years ago!! Thanks for sharing!
Have a joyfilled day,
Becky
A precious thought--thank you.tammyp
You have a beautiful blog filled with sweet words of wisdom! Thank You! xox
I just read Song of Songs and in it, it does discuss her beauty. But even in this very romantic book of the bible the verses that stood out to me were the ones that talked about her integrity and her wise words. "Let me see you; let me hear your voice. For your voice is pleasant, and you are lovely... Your lips, my bride, are as sweet as honey. Yes, honey and cream are under your tongue. ...The young women are delighted when they see her... Oh, how delightful you are, my beloved; how pleasant for utter delight! ...O my beloved, linger in the gardens, how wonderful that your companions can listen to your voice. Let me hear it, too!"
It is her tender voice that he longs, even more than her body. You can be the prettiest woman ever, but if death is dripping from your tongue, no man can find life there. The life that a woman provides is her kind words of love and affirmation. Thank you for pointing this out even more clearly to those who read your kind words of wisdom.
A very wise point, graciously made!
Blessings to you and your family :o)
