Graduation Party & How to Make Diploma Cookies

My oldest son had a graduation party in June. I can't believe that he is already graduated and that this year I will only be homeschooling 5 children!

I am just now able to share some pictures since we have been on the go so much around here!

I ordered these graduation cupcakes from Walmart and got the stand from Party City.

Me and Joy and Christian made these diplomas cookies we found on Pinterest:

They are super simple--just get the Pirouline wafer cookies and some blue ribbon (you could also use red) to tie in a bow. At Walmart they were only 99 cents a roll!

They went pretty quickly! My mother-in-law had never seen them and loved them.

We also had a canopy set up next to the pool that was all decorated too since it was also an open pool party. Here are some of the kids doing the 'dead man float'.

This is a cute little dog I found that everyone signed with marker with well wishes. I also made him a simple poster board with some printables I found online:

His brother made him a powerpoint with pictures and video that we put up of him on the big TV in the family room downstairs for guests to view.

For the menu we had:

BBQ Italian sausages, burgers, and chicken
Fruit salad
Grape salad
Taffy Apple Salad
Spinach and Strawberry salad
Macaroni and cheese
Chips and dip
Crackers and Cheese
Cake

This large sheet cake was from Costco and was about $20.

Later that day we gave my son his diploma and people went around the room saying some nice things about him and his grandparents gave him a sweet blessing.

We kept things super simple and had a full house of family and friends. I am also grateful for my children and husband who helped as a team to make it all happen!

I hope you enjoyed our pictures!

What a nice party! I must confess I was greatly relieved with I clicked through the pictures and discovered the graduate was a young man rather than a girl who needs to focus on the path God calls for her! Does your handsome son have a honey to marry soon or will he head to school this fall? Sometimes I feel overwhelmed for boys because they need to prepare to provide for large families and lead their wives to the Lord. It sure is a lot of pressure, but Im sure God has your godly young man in the palm of his hand! I will say a prayer that God will continue to refine and prepare your son for the calling that awaits! I pray he is on fire for Jesus and will be a servant leader in his family and community.
