My New Year Goals for 2017
Happy New Year!
There is SO much to look forward to in a new year--fresh year, fresh new days, a fresh outlook, fresh perspectives and a new chance of hope.
Last year was quite a year for many of you--it brought struggles, challenges, and even some heart-ache. For myself, I think one of the most difficult and unplanned things about last year was unexpectedly losing my dad. If you have lost a loved one, you know how hard that can be.
This year I am just so grateful to be alive and thanking the Lord for another day with my family and I don't want to take even one day for granted.
I have been praying over my goals for the new year. Usually I can get pretty ambitious (yes, I can be Type-A and an avid list maker) but for the last few years I have been trying to keep it more simple and focused to achieve a better outcome (in other words, as the years go by I am beginning to mellow out!). There has definitely been TWO words standing out to me when I think about this year and it is this: CHANGING LIVES.
There are a few main categories that have really been standing out to me as well so I thought I would share a few with you-- here they are:
1.SPIRITUAL
Growing closer to God through reading, prayer, and fasting. This is SO vital and key for me over the years. If this is not in place then nothing else is.
2. RELATIONSHIPS
Grow closer in relationships with those in my family and friends. My introvert personality always tries to work against me in this area so I need to make an extra effort to make this happen. I also want to make sure I am spending extra purposeful time connecting with my adult children now that they are older.
3. HEALTH
I have had some health issues in the past years that I would love to improve with healthy eating habits and purposeful exercise. I even just bought a pedometer to keep track of my steps to challenge myself! Every year my husband starts a 30 day fast (sometimes 60) and we help him juice, etc. I also try to make an extra effort to make better food buying choices for the whole family.
If you are feeling you need to improve in the area of health (like I do) you might want to check out this new program that Money Saving Mom is offering now called 15 Days to a Healthier You.

4. BLOGGING
This year I am looking forward to a fresh direction on our blogs and being more purposeful with my posts to give our readers more interest and value so that they can change their lives. We are excited and I am looking forward to improving and covet your prayers as we move forward!
Of course, there are many other things I could list here that I would like to improve for the new year but these are the main FOUR I will be spending much of my time focusing on!
I am also excited about a new book that I will begin reading in January. It is The Battle Plan of Prayer by the Kendrick brothers and I have been wanting to read it for some time now.
I will be sharing some of what I am learning on the blog so if you would like to read along with me you can find this book HERE. Pssst...it is on sale right now so it is a great time to pick it up!
What are your goals for this year?
I'd love to hear what you are doing!
Please feel free to share them in the comments below!
