Prayers for My Father in the Phillipines

Many of you have heard about the devastation of the super typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest in history- 3.5 times stronger than Hurricane Katrina, that demolished the Philippines this past week. We were crushed to learn that the city my father lives in got the brunt of the storm and they are estimating at least 10,000 to be dead.

We don't know if he is safe or if he had evacuated before the storm set in since all forms of communication in that area are down.  We are asking for prayer....that you would pray that he survived, and for God to help the other survivors and meet their critical needs such as food, water, medical assistance, shelter, etc.

We truly appreciate and thank God to all who shared their love and concern and reached out to our family at this difficult time and will keep you updated if we hear any news.

If you would like to help this country, you may do so through The Red Cross.

Will pray for your Father - and all else there. I lived in the Philippines at one time, and my heart really goes out to the people there.

We've been praying that even in the midst of this disaster, that God's love, mercy and comfort would be expressed through His servants and He would bring good out of this tragedy.

I pray He would be your Rock and comfort as well. The not knowing is always so hard. Hugs.

Dear June, I can't imagine what you are going through. I have been overwhelmed with horror and all sorts of a mish mash of emotions ever since Saturday when the pictures and videos rushed in. Are you filipino? My husband is from Coron and there seems to be no end to the horror stories there too. Praying that your dad is in a safe place and will be able to contact you soon. God bless you, patsy

Dear Patsy,

I know, it has been horrible just watching the news on this end--my heart goes out to all who are over there. No, I am not Filipino. I am glad to hear that your husband is safe and thank you all for your prayers!
