I have been in some of the most beautiful homes, with the finest of furnishings and decor, and found the atmosphere to be lacking, filled with stress, strife or anger. Other times, I have been in the poorest of homes, that lack in adequate furnishings for the family, and yet felt the atmosphere's sweetness, cheerfulness, love and relaxation. It truly does not matter what your home looks like, as much as how your home feels!
The atmosphere in a home is not created by the physical beauty of its belongings, as much as the emotional energy it holds. As mothers, we often are directly responsible for that atmosphere! We need to be pleasant, sweet, and loving, perseverant even under trials, in order to have an atmosphere that blesses all those that enter it. We are able to do this, as we lean into God, who loves to love through us..
I found this lovely encouragement on Facebook the yesterday from Above Rubies. What a wonderful reminder about the importance of atmosphere in the home!

May you be blessed as you build up your sacred homes for the Lord!

Love this post, and it's so true, atmosphere is created by how the people live in their home, not the décor.
Same goes along with us, we can be lovely dressed but with a ugly attitude, we may have the appearances of beauty but can be truly ugly!
Wonderful reminder! Thank you!
this is an awesome reminder. I was just talking about this very thing, about the looks of a home, and the perception it leaves on others. This is so true that what matter most is the atmosphere of love and comforts, rather than all the outward appearance of comforts with no love.
I also nominated you for the versatile blogger award. Details about it are right here. God bless you Mrs. June!-Chantel

Amen. My gr-ma had a decorative plate hanging in her kitchen that said, "If Mama aint' happy, ain't nobody happy!" & ~ for good or bad ~ I have found that to be true as well.
We, as wives & mothers, ARE the heart of our home. That heart can be good & loving or sour & spiteful. It's up to us. One more reason to stay buried in the Word.
Blessings from Ohio...Kim<><
Thank you for the reminder today. :) As a mother of 7 12 and under it's very easy for the tone to switch when the house starts to get messy.
Thank you for reminding me to keep smiling through clean up times.
Wow - I so needed to read this today!! The atmosphere here has been pretty stressful with sick kids and all...and it's been weighing me down. Tomorrow = a new atmosphere in our home!
Thanks for this! We live in a very small home for our family of six, but everything we have guests, they always say, "it's so homey and comforting here." It's so true that love makes a home, not money.
This really encouraging!
Thank You for the reminder! More often than not, we mothers and wives are the "temperature" of the home. Sometimes it's hard to keep that joyful, happy attitude when the house is a mess or in my case- under construction going on 10 years!:) We should strive to be happy daily no matter what steps in our paths!
What a lovely post - and so true. Some of the most warm, loving homes I've been in have been "poorer" homes. And in some homes where I feel as if I've walked into a Martha Stewart craft book, I've been afraid to touch anything and have felt as if it all is for show. New follower here, your blog looks so inspiring!
You said this so well ;) :) I really agree :) :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
I absolutly love your posts. They are such an encouragement. You had a button on your blog at one time that linked to a store for christian wallies. What was that website or is there somewhere on your blog i can link to it. I want to order some. My email is 2shelliebrown@gmail.com. Thanks! Shellie Brown
Terrific reminder!! I did a study of "a woman creates the atmosphere in the home" a number of years ago. One of the MOST convicting studies I ever did! I will have to revisit that...
Blessings,
