A Pure Woman Models Godliness

Are we models of purity to our daughters?

Are we making godly womanhood attractive to them, something they want for themselves?

How they view it begins at home, and it involves much more than the clothes they wear and the TV programs we watch.

It includes how we handle stressful seasons and how we relate to our husband. Everything we do reveals either a Christ-oriented heart or a self-oriented heart,

and by all we do, we demonstrate to our daughters what we really believe holds value.

I have the set of four Godly Woman's Adornment books and I am so excited to read them all and put the lessons into practice.

Sometimes it is so hard to stand up for your principles especially when no one around you thinks that they have any value or meaning but it is still the right thing to do!

This is so true! It is easy to set the example when things are going easily, but when those stressful times come up, our true heart is revealed... I've sure got a long way to go! May the Lord help me to set a good example to my daughter!

Yikes! I know the things you mentioned (like graceful behavior in stressful times) are important--but it never occurred to me they modeled purity to my daughter. This is an area I really want to do well in with her--thanks for giving me food for thought.

Whats hard for me is living this way in a place where I literally have no other women to walk it with me or to model it for me. You ladies online are my only example :) Has anyone come from a family where biblical womanhood was not taught? There is no church within 50 miles of me where the women are concerned about these things either. I'm learning as I go which is better than nothing- but I hate that I didn't model these things to my girls right from the beginning. I now have to un-teach and re-teach the right way.
