Strong and wise to lead the way...
What is home without the mother?
Love and kindness fills the days...
What is home without the children?
Joyfull noises, laughs and giggles...
Sweet food on the stove, simmering, music in the air.
Roaring fire, books beckoning strewn about.
Long winter days, daughters sewing, boys a playin',
The family together is what counts.
No need to wait for the golden years---
take a close look around,
for the best years that you have waited for,
have anticipated and looked forward to,
have anticipated and looked forward to,
without even noticing it,
has joyfully
has joyfully
arrived.

Absolutely beautiful. My hubby and I recently had two foster children placed in our home that we hope to adopt and these words touched me. My hubby asks if I'm living my dream now with changing diapers and all - and the answer is yes. The words you posted captures my feelings perfectly.

So true! Sometimes we just need to "stop & smell the roses."
Thanks for sharing,

Thank you for this! I also am enjoying your J.R. Miller quote.
So many elderly people have seen me with my brood outin public and have said, "enjoy it, it is the best years of your life". As you are chasing the toddler and nursing a baby at the same time, you don't think so. But now that my older ones are getting more up there in years, I am seeing it is true.
I recieve that promise and I believe the days I have waited for have just arrived, thanks for sharing.
This is where a Facebook "Like" button would come in handy! '-)

Mrs. Fuentes,
