Valentine's Day Party for Children

Life is meant to be celebrated, so when a holiday rolls around we do our best to indulge.

My daughter Naomi, who is 11 years old, is planning this years Valentine's day party for our family. I am always looking for ideas and liked this simple tutorial:

Here are some of my past posts on Valentine's Day that have to do with celebrating with our husbands that I thought some of my newer readers might enjoy:

Valentines Day For Him

My Lover, My Friend

  1. I love your blog and I have nominated you for "A Lovely Blog Award". Please check here to collect your award:

  2. Thanks for the lovely ideas...I'm posting about Valentine's later today, but nothing as beautiful as here! :)

  3. I always enjoy your blog, and wanted to share our families st. valentine day tradition. My husband proposed to me on 2/14/83 and we have a special family dinner on a beautifully set table with decadent chocolate desserts, and tell our engagement story our 9 children. With children ranging from 21-14months it is a challenge to spend time alone, but we have a real dinner date planned just the 2 of us tuesday night. I make everyone a homemade card out of whatever I have on hand, and suit the sentiment to the interest of the person. They always enjoy my crazy cards, and my favorite source of sayings is my great aunts autograph book from 1905-May you float through the river of time, like a bob-tailed chicken on a watermelon rind.

  4. What a awesome decoration for Valentines Day party... Love this bunch of pink roses!!

  5. I have just found your blog - it is lovely. I must beg a favor. The photo of the hope chest on your October 14th, 2008 post caught my daughter's eye and as we are looking for a hope chest for her upcoming 14th birthday, please do you have any information, such as the manufacturer or a retailer? Please email me at when you have a moment. Thank you.

  6. Hi... Great Ideas for Valentines Day... I wanted to share some valentines cheer. I put a small contest for girls on my blog. Your daughter might want to participate and end up with a great box of goodies.. Anyone is welcome to participate. Jaime Happy Valentines Day to you and your family.
