wow! That really is profound. People keep telling me "You CANT shelter your children/it isn't good for them/what are they gonna do when they get out in the REAL world/they're gonna rebel against you, you know that right?" etc, etc. I realize that its my JOB to shelter them and teach their hearts to properly fight temptation so that when I 'release them to the wild' lol, they are able to stand up under the pressure and dodge the flaming arrows of the enemy.
HAHA! nice comback R.C. Sproul Jr.! nice when I have my children I plan on homeschooling them and when someone accuses me a sheltering I just rember what R.C. Sproul Jr. said... HAHA!!!!
We raised chickens when I was young. This post reminded me of a mother hen walking her young brood around the farmyard, and how they follow her and learn about their world at her side. And should a bossy, know-it-all hen comes along, she doesn't hand over her family to the intruder, she chases this other hen away, because she is confident in her role as a mother hen. There is no shortage of ungodly know-it-alls in the world, which I think gives us even more reason to raise our children "close to our side". God will bless us for it.
