3 Inspiring Books by Elisabeth Elliot

“This job has been given to me to do.

 Therefore, it is a gift.

Therefore, it is a privilege.

Therefore, it is an offering I may make to God.

Therefore, it is to be done gladly, if it is done for Him.

Here, not somewhere else, I may learn God’s way.

In this job, not in some other, God looks for faithfulness.”

~Elisabeth Elliot on Homemaking

Early on when I became a Christian I found some encouraging books by Elisabeth Elliot from my local library. It was at a pivotal time in my walk because I was soaking up all I could about my faith like a sponge and tried to learn all that I could.

It is wonderful to hear from older, godly women who have a steadfast faith and walk with the Lord. Women like these are rare and if you have a chance to sit under their tutelage, it is highly recommended!

"The process of shaping a child...shapes all the mother herself. Reverence for her sacred burden calls her to all that is pure and good, that she may teach primarily by her own humble, daily example."

- Elisabeth Elliot

Our Summer Reading Series will continue with 3 books from this inspiring woman! Why only three? Because this week my mother-in-law is staying with us and that is all I have time for right now but I promise to put an extra link at the bottom so that you can find more of her encouraging books!

Elisabeth Elliot has been my primary mentor. I read Let Me Be a Woman while in my 20s, I think, and it helped shape my thinking as a Christian woman. Keep a Quiet Heart is one of my favorites and probably the one I quote from the most.
