Restoring the Garden: DIY Apothecary Kits {& Giveaway!}

Sweet friends, do you ever feel that learning about herbs and making your own products from them can be overwhelming?

I wanted to share that I just found a quick way to simplify that!

Restoring the Garden is a wonderful way to learn about using God's gifts for healing to wholeness with their all inclusive DIY apothecary kits.

I recently got a chance to check one out--I got to try the Biblical Herbs and Oils Kit.  I just want to say that I  *LOVE* the idea of simplicity behind it. It made me feel that even I, a busy mom of nine who is limited on time, can really do this thing!

Here is what really stood out to me:

Beautiful - everything from the pretty packaging right down to the lovely products so they would even make great gifts.

Practical - it is simple and easy to use for anyone.

Helpful - the little notebook included in the kit shows you how to use everything in more than one way.

Teaches you - the directions are simple and straightforward--no hard to understand terms and also explains where in the Bible the herbs are mentioned. I really liked that.

Saves Time - everything you need is included, so no running around wasting time trying to shop for what you need because it is all there.

Here are a few pictures I took so you can see for yourself:

(My Joy sharing the Nettle & Beeswax packages)

With their special kits, you can learn how to make a variety of preparations including:
  • Liniments
  • Salves and balms
  • Tinctures
  • Oil infusions
  • Herbal infusions
  • Syrups
  • Baths

What I really like, other than the convenience is that once you learn how to use these you are learning how to take care of yourself not just once but for a lifetime.  I am so grateful for a chance to learn more about it now!

They also have other helpful kits including:

Elderberry Kit
Chamomile Kit
Lavender Flower Kit
Lemon Balm Kit
Comfrey Leaf Kit
The Passion Flower Kit
The Robin's Kit
The Sparrow Kit

and you can find even more HERE.

***THE GIVEAWAY***

The sweet folks over at Restoring the Garden would like to give away their lovely Elderflower Kit!

What’s Inside?
Everything You Need To Make Your Own:
  1. Tincture
  2. Syrup
Elderflower is another great way to boost your immune system. It is antiviral, a relaxing nervine, a relaxing diaphoretic, diuretic, skin protectant and antioxidant. That’s a lot of power for a tiny little flower. The two main areas elderflower excels in are promoting healthy skin and reducing fevers. Being a diaphoretic, it encourages sweating during illness to safely reduce a fever. This is a major player during flu season. A strong infusion of elderflower at the first sign of illness can help immensely. Since elderflower encourages sweating, it acts as a natural detoxifier for the skin, which is extremely clarifying. Made into a tea or syrup, elderflower an be a great way to increase intake of antioxidants as well as decrease inflammation.
Elderflower Tincture
A tincture is a concentrated liquid extract that is meant to be taken internally. You will be making a vegetable glycerin tincture from the herb in your Elderflower kit.
Elderflower Syrup
A syrup can be wonderful for bitter tasting herbs, and for helping make herbal preparations more enjoyable for children. It is a thickened infusion that has been sweetened with honey. It is best to use a local honey for maximum benefits, so your kits do not include the honey. Syrups are also great for replacing sweetener for coffee and tea, on pancakes and waffles, and on fruit and deserts. Delicious and good for you!

I would be interested in the arnica kit, my midwife used an arnica oil during my son's birth. She sent it home with me and I continued to use it for muscle healing.
