Every year we wrap 25 Christmas books and unwrap one each until Christmas day. (Yes, this is one of our trees, I don't think we had put all the ornaments up on it yet but at least we had started it!)
We have several readers in our family so this was right up there alley! I have one that is not so much of a strong reader but when we started doing this he surprised us and was really into opening a new book and reading it each day!
It's not fancy, you all, I am so busy around Christmas that we just try to keep it simple. All the kids like getting some books from the library and coming home and individually wrapping them. The pictures above are from last year. My daughter put numbers on them so they could search for the coordinating day and have the right book. But you might want to use these lovely free printable tags.
You can use any books that you find.
If you want some Christ-centered book ideas to emphasize the true meaning of the season, here is a recommended list for you:
1. The Crippled Lamb - Max Lucado
2. The Christmas Baby - Marion Bauer
We also like to include a wide variety books including fun books as long as it is Christmas themed. Don't forget to add the cocoa to make it extra special!
Do you do a Christmas Book countdown?
What would you add?
