"I'm looking for book recommendations on the subject of raising boys, specifically dealing with the pre-teen/teen years. Thanks!"
A sweet gal from our Titus 2 Facebook Group recently asked this question, and what a great one it is! Of course, the Bible is always the FIRST book we would recommend. So dig your Bibles out and see what it has to say about raising children. And if you still want some extra encouragement after that here are a few that might help!
1. BOYHOOD AND BEYOND
2. CREATED FOR WORK
3. FUTURE MEN
4. BRINGING UP BOYS
5. RAISING REAL MEN
6. RAISING A MODERN DAY KNIGHT
7. THOUGHTS FOR YOUNG MEN
8. DO HARD THINGS
9, CHRISTIAN MANHOOD: A GUIDE FOR TRAINING BOYS TO BE SPIRITUALLY STRONG MEN
10. PLANTS GROWN UP - PROJECTS FOR SONS ON THE ROAD TO MANHOOD
And just a friendly note: we don't necessarily share every viewpoint of the authors, but there is a TON of good and encouragement that can be gleaned from these. Ask the Lord to give you wisdom with how you raise and parent your son(s). What works for one might not work for another!
A few other books were recommended like this one, this and this one too. But I have not had a chance to check those out yet. If you have, let us know what you think of them!
If your son struggles with anger (or you)--we highly recommend this book.
And if they struggle with how they respond to conflict this is a good one too.
What other books would you recommend?
