Easy Summer Berry Blast Smoothie Recipe

The other day my kids were out picking fresh raspberries and blueberries out in the woods. I love that you can get so much fresh produce right now even in the stores and the farmers market. I would love to have more berry bushes on our property. Little Isabella is smitten with raspberries so ours is always picked clean these days.

I wanted to share a quick smoothie recipe for you to enjoy. We like to use our Nutribullet to make them in since it is so easy to make them in there, but you can use any blender and that should do.

Berries are great antioxidants and are good for your heart and fighting cancer and I love being able to make something healthy for our family that tastes so good. I especially like to make smoothies when I feel a cold or virus coming on--it helps to ward it off and strengthen the immune system.

Here is the recipe below--feel free to print it out!

Summer Berry Blast Smoothie Recipe

-1 cup black berries

-1 banana

-1 handful strawberries (or raspberries or blueberries or all--just make portions smaller)

-1 handful spinach (optional--but great for power boost)

-water

-kefir (I like Lifeway Cherry or Strawberry with probiotics)

-ice

Blend this all together and you have a healthy summer smoothie in minutes! You could even add a dash of chia seeds or flax seeds to make it healthier. If you use frozen berries you can omit the ice.

(Because of size variations in the fruit just add liquids to your liking. Some like it thick like my kids and they like to spoon it out---I like to be able to drink mine .:))
