Do you find yourself sometimes struggling with contentment?
I know that we definitely all do at some time or another on some level.
The verse from 1 Timothy 6:6 comes to mind--"Godliness with contentment is great gain." This is a verse I memorized early on especially as a young wife, I had found the verse very helpful and comforting during times that were lean or when wresting with some sort of trial.
And speaking of contentment, today I also wanted to let you all know that you can get a FREE kindle copy of the Puritan classic, The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment by Jeremiah Burroughs. I don't know how long it will be available so you will want to get it while you can. I hope it will be a source of encouragement to you if you are currently struggling with being content.
Here are two quick excerpts:
“Certainly our contentment does not consist in getting the thing we desire, but in God’s fashioning our spirits to our conditions.”
“There is more comfort even in the grace of contentment than there is in any possessions whatsoever; a man has more comfort in being content without a thing, than he can have in the thing that he in a discontented way desires.”

p.s.-- I like clicking onto your blog directly sometimes...and hearing the Pachelbel's Canon in D play, because that is the song to which I walked down the aisle at my husband's & my wedding. It never gets old!
