30 Day Challenge for Wives

My dear friend, Mrs. Rhonda Devine, recently shared a challenge to wives brought forth from Nancy Leigh Demoss earlier this year.

Are you ready?

We are challenged for 30 days to not criticize our husbands---in public and out.

Sounds good to me...how about it ladies? Are you game?

And for those of you who really like challenges---how about everytime you are about to criticize your husband instead of just being silent and biting your tongue (he might wonder why you are so quiet all month!) how about using that time as a reminder to build him up. So instead of silence you could build him up with your words. Here are some examples:

"Honey, the Lord has been doing so much in your life. I'm proud of you."

"You are so strong! Thank you!"

"I am so grateful that you work so hard so that I can be home with the children. I really appreciate that."

"I am glad that you are trying to be a good spiritual leader of our home."

"I love you, what would you like for dinner?"

I am looking forward to hearing how this is going...keep me posted!

Thanks for joining--I would love to see how you put it up on your website, would you mind sharing it with us?

Tracy--Yes, indeed, you are very welcome!

    Lauren Christine,

That is a good point of it becoming a good habit. We don't just want to stop all this great building up of our husbands on day 31, now would we? ~smile~

    Many blessings to you...

  5. I am so thrilled that you are doing this. I have ranted about wives speaking negatively about their husbands for some time now, and I'm so glad that I'm not alone! I posted about my experience and take on this issue on my blog at http://joybox.typepad.com/the_joy_box/2007/02/spousal_spew.html

By the way, thank you so much for stopping by my blog and taking the time to leave a comment! I really appreciate it. You have a very lovely blog yourself!

Sorry I didnt get back to this sooner. Here one of my blogs, its set to friends so I dont know if youll be able to see it BUT.... I had one person who took this very seriously and kept me updated on her progress, it helped her to see things in her husband and be more thankful to him. And she noticed when other people were trying to "change" what they didnt like about him. I read the "help meet" book and so thats why I was so excited when you posted this challenge. I intend on posting how I did soon the 5 days are all most up. Of couse this should be a forever habit!
