Fun Faith-Centered Fall Books for Children!

Every year I try to get some new fall books for the children to read as we welcome the season of Autumn. I love being able to curl up on a couch with a child or two (or three or four plus more) and read a story of look at pictures that help them to understand what it is all about.

Special moments with your family are so important to make with your children. They will always remember the time you spent to talk to them and teach them all the things they needed to know.

Some of our best moments are curling up with a good book and having a conversation about what is in it. Children learn so quickly and we love to fill their minds with good things!

Here are a few that might be of interest to you:

P is for Pumpkin: God's Harvest Alphabet

“For God made the Earth—He made everything! He makes all the wonders each season will bring. He changes the colors on leaves big and small, red, brown and yellow to tell us it’s Fall. He turns the fields into ribbons of Gold, sparkling with frost as the autumn grows cold.” Destined to become a family keepsake, this unique, jacketed hardcover celebrates the wonders of an entire season. With help from the alphabet, preschoolers journey through God’s harvest blessings—in the process discovering just how much there is to be thankful for.

A Pumpkin Prayer

Colorful pumpkins, crunching leaves, crisp breezes—celebrate the abundance of the harvest season through charming illustrations and sweet rhymes that are perfect for young hearts. Families will want to look for other titles in the new Time to Pray series including An "I Love You" Prayer.

The Pumpkin Patch Parable

This charming story for children illustrates how a loving farmer can turn a simple pumpkin into a simply glorious sight. In the same way, God's transforming love can fill each of our hearts with joy and light. Liz Curtis Higgs created this parable as a way to share the Good News with her own precious children each harvest season. . .and now with children everywhere.

The Fantastic Gifts of Fall

Playful rhymes leap off illustrated pages by Katherine Blackmore and give thanks to God for the wonderment created in fall. The infectious rhyming prose paired with scriptural passages, give gratitude and glory to God as early learners discover the Fantastic Gifts of Fall.

My Happy Pumpkin: God's Love Shining Through Me

Small children will eagerly open this pumpkin-shaped board book to discover the delightful story and colorful illustrations, by artist Claudine GĂ©vry. Using sing-song rhyme, author Crystal Bowman describes a fun fall tradition―carving a pumpkin face. But she adds a twist that helps preschoolers grasp the concept of God’s life-changing love for them. Just like we scoop out the inside a pumpkin, God makes us clean on the inside too.

God Bless Our Fall

Parents and children will want to cuddle up together again and again to hear the sweet rhyming story and see the snuggly animal families happy in their fall activities. Pumpkin patches, apple harvests, leaves that change color, hayrides, warm beverages, cozy clothes—God Bless Our Fall highlights all the wonderful things families get to enjoy together when the air turns crisp and cool.

As these Fall books sound absolutely lovely. I'll be looking for these for next Fall. This year I bought so many children's books already, my husband probably won't let me get that much more. I absolutely love children's books and hope to be a published author of some someday. Blessings to you, thanks for this lovely post. What an inspirational blog you have.

I love your list of books! I am excited to add a few of these books to my harvest/fall/Thanksgiving themed book bin for the kiddos. Both of my kiddos love books, so they will be excited for the news books. Thank you for sharing!
