Christmas Fun for the Holidays

Dear Mama,  I know you have been busy shopping and maybe going a little crazy because of the holiday season. But just remember to take the time to step back, exhale, grab some time for relaxation and make some fun memories with your children. In our large and bustling household I try to keep things very simple and not do anything elaborate that I might regret later. So simple it is, and that is what we end up doing. We can under estimate simple because many times that is more desirable than getting ourselves worked up too much during such a busy season.

Yesterday we did some shopping and my older daughter helped to make some sugar and gingerbread cookies with the children. I told her not to decorate them until I came home so I could share in some of the fun with them. It was so nice to come home and see she had taken care of so much.  She also printed out some Christmas printables for them which they completed, made lunch, cleaned up the house, and had them watching "Frosty The Snowman" when I got home. It is such a blessing to have adult daughters who can take over and bless the entire family.

We were able to come home and start working on some costumes for a Christmas play and choir that the children will be in. I have one angel, one to be Joseph, and the twins are going to be wise men!

Some other things we have done is we found this idea off Pinterest and now we have these lovely snowmen in our home. You can also put him on the back of doors as well!

I also think it is so fun to make things out of toilet paper tubes, my little kids just love it so if I have time this weekend I will try to squeeze this one in:

You can find this pin here, I think it is free to download it.

I hope I remember to buy these mini marshmallows at the store today so the twins can try their hand at this :

We also realized how close it was to Christmas so we are now trying to squeeze in as many Christmas movies as we can. Last night we watch Little House on the Prairie: Christmas at Plum Creek, and it was so refreshing to watch something from the older days.

I hope you all are enjoying these last days before Christmas!
