The Domest Artist: Scrumptious Fudge Brownies

Sssshhh---I have a confession to make....chocolate is a weakness for me! And sweet Miss Jen has whipped up something absolutely mouthwatering to share with us:

I love brownies and fudge...
put the two together and you are bound
to have some sort of chocolaty loveliness.

Whilst visiting a quaint little town,
I came upon a lovely restaurant and in it
I found a delightful little cookbook with this recipe.
It's simple to make and quite scrumptious.

Scrumptious Fudge Brownies

1 cup butter ~melted
2 cups sugar
1 cup unsifted flour
2/3 cup good cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
3 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 cup walnuts chopped
(optional)

12 oz. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
14 oz. Sweetened Condensed Milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In large mixer bowl, combine butter, sugar, flour, cocoa,
baking powder, eggs, milk and 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla; beat well.
Stir in nuts. Spread in greased 9x13" baking pan.
Bake 35-40 minutes or until edges are coming away from the pan.
In heavy sauce pan, over low heat, melt chocolate chips with
sweetened condensed milk and remaining 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla.
Remove from heat. Immediately spread over hot brownies.
Cool. Cut into bars & serve plain or with
Vanilla Ice Cream and drizzle with Chocolate Sauce.
Enjoy!

Many blessings, dear readers.

"She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar."
 Proverbs 31:14

Having just turned 19, Jen finds great joy in serving her family from home. She firmly believes that the home is a beautiful canvas for biblical hospitality, servanthood and discipleship.  All aspects of homemaking are on her list of interests including gourmet cooking, baking, calligraphy, sewing and embroidery. She is also inspired by photography, music, theology and biblical womanhood. Miss Jen blogs at Blessed Femina, which she founded in the fall of 2008 to document her blessed life as a daughter/homemaker-in-training and to encourage other women in Biblical femininity. Happily residing in sunny northern California with her parents, it is her greatest desire to live a life depicted in I Corinthians 10:31: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

What an incredible looking dessert. That looks as decadent as anything on a restaurant menu. Just found your blog and love how pretty it is.

Chocolate is my one favorite food besides coffee. Being a dairy free diet I will have to tweak the recipe. Hoping that it turns out as good as the picture :-)
