Do you have a child that is planning to go to college?
We just had our second oldest son leave for college last week and is desiring to major in criminal justice. He is also excited about playing football there as well! We miss him but it is definitely a "happy" sad.
When a child moves away to live in on campus in a dorm there is much that they will need. And it is good to take time a prep and plan in advance.
So I figured I would share a practical list of basic helpful items with you here so it might help someone else as well!
Here it is and sorted by category:
BED
mattress topper - many dorm mattress are uncomfortable and this provides extra padding
dust ruffle - if you want to cover the storage area what is under your bed
LAUNDRY
STUDENT
notebooks/ pens/ paper/ folders/ planner/ stapler/ paper clips/ highlighters/erasers/white out/tape
laptop (don't forget the charger and case)
earphones, airpods, or headphones
trash can (a small one and don't forget the bags)
clothes/underwear/coats/socks/ gloves/hats
TOILETRIES
shampoo/conditioner/soap/body lotion
bowls and plates
toothbrush/toothpaste
feminine hygiene
deodorant
razors/shaving kit
perfume/cologne/bodywash
MISCELLANEOUS

important school papers
