When Christmas time comes around sometimes we can get so busy that we forget to focus our hearts on the true meaning of season--the birth of our Savior.
Around here we usually read through the Gospel of Luke as a family.
But oftentimes with little ones it is also helpful to go through some children storybooks that are illustrated that help to drive it all home. So we thought we would share a list of Advent books just for children and teach them the real reason we celebrate!
Here they are:
1. The Way to the Manger - A Family Advent Devotional
Christmas is a chaotic time of year. With so much focus on material gifts and the anticipation of a certain jolly visitor, parents may easily feel their children are missing the true meaning of Christmas as they count down the days until December 25.
The Way to the Manger engages families with the biblical truth of Christmas through twenty-five Advent devotions that redirect children and families to their need for a Savior and the amazing gift of Jesus Christ. Sure to become a keepsake that is revisited year after year, this book also provides talking points and activities for families to enjoy together, bringing the focus of Christmas back to Jesus and family time.
In My First Advent Storybook, little ones hear about the promise God made from the days of Abraham all the way to the arrival of baby Jesus. Thoughtful, rhythmic text highlights special themes of Advent and invites children to be part of the story with fun, interactive prompts.
This simple, sturdy book is ideal for:
- Children ages 0-3
- Parents, grandparents, and children’s ministry leaders
- Baby showers, adoption parties, birthdays, Christmas, and Advent
Parents who want to introduce their children to the big story of the Bible will love the biblical truths in My First Advent Storybook and its sweet Christmas season companion, Count My Way to Jesus.
