Poetry Tea Time - Valentine's Day Theme

"When tea becomes ritual, it takes its place at the heart of our ability to see greatness in small things. Where is beauty to be found? In great things that, like everything else, are doomed to die, or in small things that aspire to nothing, yet know how to set a jewel of infinity in a single moment?"

-M. Barbery

We recently did our monthly Poetry Tea Time and this one was Valentine Day themed!

We got these amazing Heart- Shaped Macaroons from Costco, they were so delicious! I think ours is out of stock now but if you can still find them, they are worth getting. They come in raspberry and vanilla flavors and are the best macaroons I have tried at Costco by far.

Bella and Joy made these chocolate heart cupcakes above for our tea table.

The kids opted for cocoa since the day was snowy.

You can find tons of cute tea cup sets here if you don't have one, this is the one we have.

Here are some of the Poetry Books we read through:

Here is what we read:

The Oxford Collection of Classic Poems

I especially liked The Book of a Thousand Poems, it had many interesting and short poems that appealed to me.

We also got Bella some of these cute little Valentine's Day books:

Her's included:

Peppa's Valentine's Day

Panda's Valentine's Day

Fluffy's Valentine's Day

Thomas & Friends Valentine's Day in Vicarstown

Afterward we read some poems out loud,  we played some laughter-filled games of Bananagrams:

Our boys really enjoy this time and actually look forward to it--probably because there is food involved!

The day was truly great fun and one that we won't forget!

Yes, the poetry books are a favorite and helps us to slow down and enjoy the simple things. The children are going to be using them all month long to practice their penmanship! Thanks for stopping by and blessing to you!
