A Peek Inside My Life

It's been a while since I share one of these but I will try to combine a mix of December and January in this post so that you could see some of what we did. I like to do these at least once a month so you can stay updated. I am sharing pic of me above using a diamond filter that I thought was cute!

MY FIRST HOT CHOCOLATE BOMB

My oldest daughter got me one of those trendy chocolate bombs last month as a gift and it was so cute and fun to try.  It is basically a chocolate ball with cocoa mix and marshmallows inside them.

When you pour hot milk over it it breaks open. Here is a video of us trying it here:

You can even make your own for Valentine's day with these cute molds or can order some premade from here.

HOMESCHOOLING

We recently got to try Snap Circuits for our homeschool Friday Fun Day. It is a fun STEM kit that shows the kids how to build all kinds of electrical projects safely. The box we got included 70 different projects and they really loved this and spent hours "playing" with it. Think of legos and how you snap them into place--it is the same idea and super easy.

I highly recommend these as they are wonderfully educational! I am already looking to at their larger kit options like the Snap Circuit Pro  since it was such a hit.

FAVORITE CHRISTMAS GIFTS

This year was different since we didn't travel to see family for Christmas Eve. It was still fun and a nice chance to spend some quality time with each other. For Christmas day we got a few new things like this new treadmill. We picked this one for easy foldability, price, and weight capacity and Papa got it for us.

A massage chair for resting in and watching movies. I keep falling asleep in it!

A cool home projector that we are loving. This one was great because it has bluetooth and WiFi. My kids asked for a projector all summer long! They are planning to use it outside in the summer on the side of the house. Right now we use it on a whole wall indoors and it is pretty awesome.

But my most fave gift was this new Mac in the color rose gold from my husband which I got early (because mine died) that I mentioned about in an earlier post! I use it daily.

HEALTHY PLANS

I also got some hand weights and ankle weights this year. I plan on using the treadmill, weights, and mini trampoline along with some workout videos and so far doing good. I am also taking this seriously this year.

SEWING PLANS

I recently got s this new sewing machine for my daughters after much research and asking all you ladies on our fan page. I used to own this amazing Singer sewing machine and made all kinds of things from it--I would sew clothing for the kids, dresses, pillows, nursery accessories, curtains, and much more.

One of my older daughters loved making these lovely renaissance costume dresses after I taught her how to use a pattern. Over time I had to replace my trusty old sewing machine and my daughter was gifted one for free that she eventually wore out too. So I got this new one a month ago to try our hand at some projects again.

Little Bella is so excited. Even though she is only 6 she loves hand sewing and can't wait to try her hand at it! Here she is:

(She is holding a unicorn lollipop that dad bought her from Cracker Barrel--

you can see she lost two of her front teeth and has another loose in the front too!)

If you have any sewing projects that you loved, please share in the comments below, I'd love to hear your ideas.

BASKETBALL SEASON

You all know that we have kids in basketball this year again. My other twin son just joined so that makes four of them playing now. He used to record the team games for the coaches but two boys had to leave the team, so they asked if he would join. Now we only have a few weeks of the season left and then I will be able to focus on some big home projects. Currently there are a ton of tournaments...pray that I make it through these last few weeks! 😂

BRINGING IN 2021

New Years for our family was spent at two fun places--we went to visit a sweet friend's church party early in the night and then spent the remaining night celebrating at the home of some old friends. Great memories were made!

I hope you enjoyed our pictures!

  1. Hi It is nice hearing from you once again. You and your family received lovely Christmas gifts. The projector is a fun project for all family members. Your daughters will have a lot of fun with the sewing machine. They will be able to make their clothes the way they would like them styled. I received many books and puzzles (crossword, circle a word, fill in and jigsaw). Also a mini American Doll Mary Ellen.
The weather has been cold with a mix of rain/snow yesterday. Your Bella is a cutie.
    Stay well and safe.

  2. Thank You for the update. Glad you and your family had a nice Christmas. You received some great and useful presents. I love the sewing machine. I am trying to learn to sew. That is one of my goals for 2021. I am determined to get into some exercising. I want to use Marie Osmond's Body Gym I purchased. I enjoy your posts especially about your lovely family. God Bless.

  4. Dear Marilyn,

I taught myself how to sew on the sewing machine using a teenagers beginning projects book I think I got from the library. It was so fun when I figured it all out! I hope you have as much fun learning as I did! I am so glad that you enjoy these posts, I like to do them so that others can connect with me on a personal level. I hope you to hear from you again soon!
