Poetry Tea Time - Fall Theme

We had our first Poetry Tea time for the new school year just recently. It is so special that this is one of the things that the children really look forward to in our little homeschool, they always request to have it for every year.

"Poetry is what in a poem makes you laugh, cry, prickle, be silent, makes your toe nails twinkle, makes you want to do this or that or nothing, makes you know that you are not alone in the unknown world, that your bliss and suffering is forever shared and forever all your own." ~Dylan Thomas

We decided to do a fall theme with taffy apples, pumpkin donuts, candy pumpkins and cocoa. This is our second fall themed tea party we have done. You can view our first fall themed Tea Time here.

Here are the books that we read:

Lend a Hand: Poems About Giving by John Frank

Sea Watch by Ted Lewis

Big Foot is Missing by Patrick Lewis

Seasons  by Charlotte Zolotan

Wild in the Streets: 20 Poems of City Animals by Marilyn Singer

We had a lot of fun dramatizing the poems that we read. We read slow, we read loud, we added emphasis and a ton of drama!

I hope you enjoyed our pictures!
