How to Make a Thankful Tree

In the past I have shared some ideas of how to celebrate fall with different activities but I wanted to share a bit more about having a Thankful Tree.

It is so important to teach our children to be thankful and this is a fun way to do that!

When the kids were younger I did variations of these as time allowed. One year we only had a few children and more time so we made a felt banner and hung the tree with leaves on it. On the leaves we used glitter and paint to write what we were happy for and it looked something like this. That felt hanging lasted for a few years and we always took it out to decorate with.

Then a few years later we did something similar to this---I got a mason jar and we filled it with branches we scavenged from outside and we cut some leaves out of fall colored construction paper, punched a hole in them and used some yarn and we hung them on the branches.

It was a fun little activity for the kids and they could always look and be reminded of all of God's blessings and provisions in their lives.

Now if you don't have time to do all of that--don't get stressed. There are definitely some other time-saving options!

I like these kits because they are fast and quick and you don't need to spend a ton of time doing them if you are limited in that area, but still get a chance to do a very worthwhile and fun activity.

If you already have a tree like this around your home I think to use it would be so pretty because the light would draw people to look at it:

You can save time by  using a marker to write out what you are thankful for and adding colorful premade leaves like these:

Or you can just get these easy premade full kits:

This one doesn't take up space because you can hang it on your wall.

I would also consider printing out some of these Bible verses on being thankful for you and your family to study through the month of November.
