All This and Christ

"I have heard of some good old woman in a cottage,
who had nothing but a piece of bread and a little water,
and lifting up her hands, she said, as a blessing,

“What! All this, and Christ too?”

  1. What a beautiful reminder of the simplicity that is in Christ. In the words of Charles Wesley, "Thou, O Christ, art all I want and more than all in Thee I find." Thank you for posting and for hosting the link-up. I look forward to it weekly. Blessings, Hilary

  3. Thanks so much for sharing this little quote. I read this as I am mourning the loss of our fourth child, who never made it into this world but went straight to the arms of her loving Father in heaven, and was just joined by her dear great-grandmother shortly after. I read these words and know that though I have lost so much, I have lost nothing for I have Christ. I pray I can teach these truths to my children, that they may not seek the worlds goods, but content themselves with Christ. God bless,
    Anna

  4. This made me STOP, right that moment and pause in prayer.
I reread it with it's full power.

  5. I prayed for forgiveness for taking so much for granted. And my heart cries for some elderly lady that is lonely. I pray that God will comfort her and will lay it on someone's heart to take time to visit and take a few moments of their time to make them feel loved and share God's word with them, so even though they may seem lonely they are never alone with the Spirit of Christ in them. And Father God if that is me lead me and let me be your hands and feet. Amen!
