Leading An Army To Battle

"You are as much serving God in looking after your own children,
and training them up in God's fear,
and minding the house,
and making your household a church for God,

as you would be if you had been called
to lead an army to battle
for the Lord of hosts."

~Charles Spurgeon

That was a great quote!

Some people try so hard to get rid of their kids even just for a little while.

I try so hard to be a good influence on the people around me; to show them that parenting is so much more than shipping kids off.

Such a simple quote yet soooo deep!

Love,
Janet

BEAUTIFUL IMAGE BY THE WAY! AND..I THINK WE HAVE BEEN CALLED TO LEAD OUR LITTLE TROOPS...TO BATTLE THE EVIL OF THIS WORLD. WE ARE MOTHERS, WE ARE LEADERS, LEADING OUR PRECIOUS LITTLE TROOPS THROUGH THIS WORLD, TEACHING THEM TO BATTLE EVIL AT EVERY TURN. HOW WILL THEY KNOW, UNLESS THEIR MOTHERS TEACH THEM SO?! COME SAY HI..I DON'T BITE! LOL :D

Wow. Just found your blog and I am already in love with your soul!!! I only have one child (have had 2 miscarriages) and I pray the Lord will soon grant me more or at the least open my husband's heart to the idea of adoption, but in the mean time I am happily trying to learn how to become the woman, wife, and mother of God that will be a helper of my husband and raise a child that will as you say, "impact the world for Jesus Christ". Can't wait to dig around your blog for more help to that end. Thanks. And GREAT MUSIC!!!

I only wish I could truly believe this in my heart. I keep thinking what I do is just not enough for the Kingdom, yet I know God keeps telling me that this is what He's called me to do. I have to keep reminding myself that I mess up raising my kids, nothing else will matter. It starts with them...right here...right now.
Thank you for this reassurance!

Beautiful post and such a great reminder. Thank you for helping me to refocus on the importance of this job. I love this job of motherhood and feel blessed to be home with my four little ones. But some days in the "trenches" of littlehood it becomes easy to loose focus on the eternal work that I am doing, while here in these four walls.

Thank you so much for this quote. It is very timely for me! I have just recently (yesterday) stumbled upon your blog and have already bookmarked it on my computer so I can check on it regularly. Each post that I have read so far has been such an encouragement to me. I'm thankful that God led me to your blog.

I love your blog. As mothers we do have such a ministry to teach and train our children to love the Lord and be spiritual warriors for Christ in their generation. My husband and I raised four boys and a girl. There are some things I wish I had done differently but the Lord knows my heart was to raise our children in accordance to His Word. I thank the Lord that my husband also followed God's Word in being the leader and head of the household and is a godly example to our children. It is good to see a blog exemplifying the Truth of God's Word in every area of our lives. Love the music too.

that quote was breathtaking. I was just a second ago, saying to myself, hmmm, I have to dust the livingroom today. And it dawned on me how all the little things ( or big things I do) are not just mundane pointless taks. YOu reminded me that I am ministering- thank you Lord for the sweet reminders like this one.
