I see my nieces and nephews involved in a lot of very worldly things thru the week and bringing these things into the church on Sunday. I love them, but I don't like the influence they are beginning to have on my kids. We will probably have to change churches or start home churching again. I wish we could find some like minded Christian families without televisions to socialize with.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1984956841131982891.post-26515294371983687562010-12-28T21:10:14.266-06:002010-12-28T21:10:14.266-06:00I too am teaching the Bible study "Girls Gone...I too am teaching the Bible study "Girls Gone Wise In A World Gone Wild" by Mary Kassian to a group of high school girls. It's so sad how these girls have been saturated with everything but...how to be a Godly Woman. I am praying that they will realize the importance of motherhood, homemaking and being a wife that enjoys taking care of her husband. I plan on taking them on a weekend Bible Study retreat to introduce them to the world of cooking, cleaning and homemaking and how that is all incorporated into being a "Godly Woman."
God Bless
JoyJoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09503304646379687133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1984956841131982891.post-1497746737344651102010-12-21T14:22:36.939-06:002010-12-21T14:22:36.939-06:00This comment is for Amy. It is wonderful from a spiritual standpoint. I get antsy if someone invites me to a movie and it's unbearable to sit through a TV show. Friends think I'm off my rocker :) But it's not done out of legalism, it's because the Lord has given me wonderful new desires!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1984956841131982891.post-34417890072135507772010-10-31T01:23:51.287-05:002010-10-31T01:23:51.287-05:00I think I miss the point of the title but I have a...I think I miss the point of the title but I have a query regarding 'tv'...

As a brand new believer (8yrs ago) the Lord spoke to my heart about not watching tv. And I stopped. When I moved out of home I was given one with friends who set it up and I had tv which never got turned on unless someone else did it. But then when DH & I moved to a new town we were given 4 tvs in a year. Shocking and ridiculus! We gave them away in the end. I struggle to watch movies bcos of MY conviction & def don't have a tv anymore praise the Lord.
But I wonder and I am wondering... How many OTHER people have the same conviction? With NO tv in their homes... & why... I often feel like I a the only one :S
Thanks xxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1984956841131982891.post-21778783546098294162010-10-30T20:41:04.309-05:002010-10-30T20:41:04.309-05:00Thank you so much for this wise post!Thank you so much for this wise post!jenniferOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03299087306696772478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1984956841131982891.post-91113595423699923902010-10-29T22:43:15.008-05:002010-10-29T22:43:15.008-05:00Thank you so much. I've been thinking on this ...Thank you so much. I've been thinking on this topic so much lately, as I have a younger sister whose life I can clearly see being ruined by these lies. I've been trying to find articles and words of wisdom on this topic, and yours are always the ones that speak to me. I pray one day my sister will open her eyes enough to let some truth speak to her as well. :)Jessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11504406294510818101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1984956841131982891.post-79674353758661504552010-10-29T20:36:02.442-05:002010-10-29T20:36:02.442-05:00Thank -you so much for this post.I can think of no...Thank -you so much for this post.I can think of nothing more important than taking care of my home and family and being a help-meet for my husband.I have done so for over 34 years. Sometimes I think, we as women, are so easily deceived because we want to please so much, our husbands, children, parents even. The pressure to be more than what God intended for us is a message we are constantly hearing.Suzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11016058828515830560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1984956841131982891.post-91276114897772231222010-10-29T14:03:37.686-05:002010-10-29T14:03:37.686-05:00thank you for this wonderful post. My husband is overjoyed that I don't want to work and he works over time at his job so I can be home. I feel very blessed. I homeschool as well.

But everyone else in my family thinks I am selfish because I won't put the kids in school or day care and get a job. They don't think I'm helping my husband financially and that hurts. Some of them think that my staying at home is lazy, and they make comments about how it must be nice to get to stay home and do nothing! When it's furthest from the truth.

I hope that someday they will see my differently. I guess I am a little selfish for wanting to be home.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1984956841131982891.post-81905130065356762632010-10-29T08:34:26.820-05:002010-10-29T08:34:26.820-05:00I actually titled my blog "I am woman, but yo...I actually titled my blog "I am woman, but you will never hear me roar", originally. I later decided that didn't fit, but this topic is always on my heart. I feel we can never truly bring glory to the Father and honor to our husbands, if we overshadow them at every turn.
