Fun Homeschool Project: Human Body Play-Doh Mats

The other day I was looking for a quick and fun project to do with my children for school to give them a break from the books. It was a Monday and I wanted something simple and easy.

I ended up finding these Human Body Play-doh Mats.

The kids loved them!

All you need is to print the mats out and some cans of Play-doh and that is it--voila, now you have an enjoyable project for the day . We used about 8 cans for six kids and that was more than enough. You can find a great price for a pack of ten on Amazon.

We made the skeleton, the muscular system and did all the organs.

(Haha -my son added the special alien eyes and head to make it look "cooler".
I love my 5 sons, they make life way more interesting!)

I love that is was so hands on. We also learned how long the intestines are (28 feet) and we walked 28 steps (feet back to back) through the house to see how long that was. Later that week we visited a science museum and got to see the real models of these systems, which was pretty neat. I will post on that later and link here so you can see the pictures, but here is a quick one:

Even my little Bella, who is only four, really enjoyed this project too!
