Many of you know that my husband and I are honored to be in the midst of a wonderful new church plant that the Lord has set before our path along with some dear friends. It has been such a road of blessing along this great journey-- I see God's hand at work in so many amazing ways and the fellowship that the Lord has provided has been so sweet!
Then I started to think about other church planting wives and how I was sure that many of them might be looking for some encouragement. That is when I found this wonderfully encouraging blog for church planters wives and women in ministry called Grace Covers Me: Leading and Living By Grace by Christine Hoover (a fellow church planting wife and contributor at Desiring God blog) and knew I needed to share it with you!
There is SO much over there, I don't even know where to begin! But take some time to look around and I know that something will speak to you over there. I am also looking forward to checking out her book that will be released sometime early next year by Moody Publishers:
(I will be posting more in the future on church planting, so if you are doing that or a pastors wife please leave a comment and share your thoughts and your blog.)
Are you a church planting/pastor's wife?
Are there any encouraging resources that you would like to share?
I would like to help plant a church that is founded on God's word and God's word alone. Especially the KJV as that is only 1$ and God wants all people to have access to his word.
ReplyDeleteHusband is in a state of trouble right now and may be sent to prison right here in the US for taking the risk to provide for his own family. Had to go on unemployment and made an error in reporting.
Pray that he will be released from the charges!
Dear Laura,
DeleteI believe that other versions outside of KJV can be used such as NIV, ESV. etc. We did some in-depth researching and do not feel that KJV is the only version that could be used.
We will definitely pray for your husband.
Many blessings...
Thank you, June, for your kind words and for sharing my blog with your readers. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteDear Christine,
DeleteI was blessed by your blog earlier this week and love how you are very honest and encouraging there. Keep up the great work!
Many blessings...
Thanks for the link. I am a pastor's wife, but he is not a church planter in this work. However, most churches in America are small (100 or less) and all ministry wives can use encouragement. I understand new plants have unique challenges, but you get to see God work in ways that are less obvious in a large work. Each stage has its own blessings. I have been blessed and challenged in our 17 years of fulltime ministry with my husband as the solo pastor/staff of our churches. God bless your work and may He give you encouragers in human form as well as His divine favor.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the encouraging words. Yes, our prayer is for church planters and pastors everywhere to be encouraged in the Lord and to be strengthened to the work that they are called to.
DeleteThanks for visiting!
This applies to me. Husband is now a pastor to our church, which was not easy at first. We went against the grain of the "normal" church where the Word of God was not being taught. He had a heavy conviction to go back to school and get his degree, and still work full time supporting his family. Now he's regard as a bivocational and would love to spend more time doing the will of God in the ministry.
ReplyDeleteOur church is very small but we are involved with the people (which was one of my husband's concern that the church is lacking in). As his wife, help-mate (and secretary....LOL) I see how much my husband loves the Lord and is not ashamed to teach and preach God's word. I am still learning to understand what it is like to be a pastor's wife, but I am encouraged by others who sees me as someone who is willing to give herself up and be a huge helper of my husband.
My personal prayer to be a godly woman according to His word, to be the mother of our children, but more importantly to be the helper of the man that God had chosen for me.
