Mega Family of 21 to Have Reality TV Show

Do you remember meeting the Bates family on the Duggar's hit TV show, 19 children and Counting?

They also have a large family of 21 and will now have their own reality show called United Bates of America starting Monday night (tonight) at 8 CST on TLC.

Here are some videos of the conservative Christian homeschooling family--DON'T FORGET to turn off the playlist on the sidebar before watching:

Their website is HERE and you can view
the Duggars introducing the new show here.
In this day and age of teen vampire and occultic movies having run amuck, I am grateful to see wholesome shows that share families who are trying to live out their walk in front of millions.
How about you?

I think this is great, but the network is really using them as an oddity like the Duggars. They get great ratings, etc., and I know they do change peoples' lives despite the intent of the networks, but sooo many of us are not giant families and we can't relate - like me! I pray blessing on them, tho!

The series actually starts tonight, Monday, at 9pm on TLC....just wanted to throw that out, so no one misses it :)

I love that the hosts didn't make them out to be super-weird on those clips.... obviously they're different, but no one was nasty to them. That was refreshing.

Dear Nicole,

Thanks, I just changed it!

I've watched a few f the cares specials before. Pretty good. I sometimes find them a bit more relatable than the duggar girls, but that has a lot to do with the bates girls openly talking about their interests in hunting and paintball and the like. I never hear much about that from the duggar girls, those both families have wonderful young ladies that set excellent examples f ways to dress in modern clothing that is still modest. :-)

Rebecca,

If you read the Duggars last book, A Love that multiplies, you hear more from the girls and their stories of paintball, jumping out of planes and more!

Many blessings...

June, how can we watch this if we don't have cable TV? I'm pretty sure I can buy it in iTunes later but what if I'd like to watch it tonight for example? So glad you're raising awareness about this show!

Dear Sandi,

I don't think there is a way to watch it, only later they will post the episodes on YouTube, Amazon, etc. If anyone knows, please do share!

Many blessings...

My children and I enjoy watching 19 Kids and Counting though the dad and oldest son annoy me. I have always liked the Bates family when they visit with the Duggars, so I need to turn on my TV and set my DVR for this new series. Why hadn't I heard of this before? Thanks for sharing!!!

I really struggle with Christian families doing this - I don't like the idea of children being shown around the country for all too see. Homelife should be private and not sold. I don't see this as a Christian act at all. But just my personal view. I certainly would never do it to my own children.

I AM! The Duggars' tv show was the first exposure I had to a Christian husband and wife who have surrendered their fertility to the Lord, which began the process of thinking and talking and praying through doing the same with my then-boyfriend. Now we are married and expecting our first in February, and I am so thankful for families like the Duggars and Bates who set such a wonderful example for large, godly, homeschooling families--which we hope to be one day, Lord willing. :)

I think it's great to see decent, clean shows on tv. I'll be praying that it's a blessing for this family...and in turn, they'll be a blessing to everyone that watches them. Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
