Wow. As a single young woman I've been thinking a lot on what characteristics constitute "marriage material" in a man. I think that poster sums it up right there.
That was such an amazing message! My husband works out of town so on his down time today we were able to watch it "together" via Skype.
We are both super excited because we are able to see Mark and Grace in February for the Real Marriage tour. God is definitely at work in the marriages of believers!
My husband and I just finished reading Real Marriage together and are now excited to start watching the sermons together. It's already been such an encouragement and time of growth for us.
Hello there, I so agree with what you are trying to do here. However, I wonder if a woman who does not have a husband whom is a leader or who would even consider veiwing this might be left with a feeling of discontentment. I realize you are not attempting to teach men, but your blog is for women as is mine and I think it is important we do not move into dominions that are not ours. I know say Douglas Wilson speaks on this and even asks woman to not read his books. Now if you are listening to this pastor as a couple amen. It just seems we try too much as woman to usurp our husbands biblical manhood by finding things they should see/hear when they have not asked. This post could put many woman in this spot. How many woman viewed this and spent a few minutes this eveing trying to get that message to their husbands, how many husbands went to bed thinking they were being compared to someone else..once again. I personally did not watch the video, as I will not watch a mans teaching unless my husband would request that I be there. My husband does appreciate me purchasing Vision forum DVDs CDS. Sm Davis, Steve Maxwell etc for him but this is something I all ready know to do. Your post puts woman who may not have that type of situation in their marriage in an akward postition. I think we need to be more sensitive to that. It would be like a mens blog posting a Victoria Botkin message and poster...it just seems out of their dominion...I do not mean to offend but just felt heavy in the Lord to say this. As I said I know where your heart is coming from but many men and woman do not have this agreement in their marriage and several Christian men I think of would frown on the women venturing into this area. If your thinking I am way off, maybe just pray about it and seek some councel. You can email me at jepsonrevival@live.com
I do not expect that you need to publish this what so ever!! Every blessing, Jodi
I appreciate your concern and would like to explain why I posted this.
The title is from the article from Driscoll's blog, not mine. I linked to it hoping others might read it and enjoy it as well. Perhaps it is misunderstand if you do not click on the link to see the actually title.
I loved the message and love seeing men call other godly men to leadership which is sorely lacking today. In no way am I personally calling men to leadership--just enjoy when I see men obeying God in doing so. That's all--plain and simple. :)
What I would like to see is this post going viral and men and woman stumbling upon it (hearing Driscoll's teaching, of course, and not mine as I am not in the business of teaching men to lead at all) and being blessed as many have in the past.
Many wives have shared Driscoll's teachings with their husbands and his teaching has mentored them. It is a win-win situation.
I, personally, cannot control other women watching this and feeling discontent, etc.or men feeling less than better. If that were the case I could probably never share anything here for fear of worrying about every small detail.
Remember, this is just a blog where I share my heart, things that I like, etc. from my perspective. Take it for what it is worth.
I do not take it personally at all, but you must realize that a blogger is not there to please everyone. It is not humanly possible, nor my desire. My desire is not to please man, but the Lord.
I am happily married to Steve and joyfully raising eight special blessings that will impact the world for Jesus Christ! I hope you will feel comfortable here as you join us in the quest of building beautiful homes for the Lord.

Changing the world with a Vision of Multigenerational Faithfulness
"Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is place in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it's soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,--she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her." -JR Miller
Building up our husbands as leaders with submission and respect
"A true wife makes a man's life nobler, stronger, grander, by the omnipotence of her love 'turning all the forces of manhood upward and heavenward.' While she clings to him in holy confidence and loving dependence she brings out in him whatever is nobles and richest in his being. She inspires him with her courage and earnestness. She beautifies his life. She softens whatever is rude and harsh in his habits or his spirit. She clothes him with the gentler graces of refined and cultured manhood. While she yields to him and never disregards his lightest wish, she is really his queen, ruling his whole life and leading him onward and upward in every proper path. -JR Miller
This blog is dedicated to my children, that they will always know my heart for them today and when I am gone.
Exalting Christ with a gentle and quiet spirit
"A gentle and quiet spirit is not only imperishable; it is precious in the sight of God. It's also one of the hardest qualities to cultivate. Far from a sign of weakness, a gentle and quiet spirit is the sign of a woman who is strong in faith, mind and character." --Anna Sofia & Elizabeth Botkin

Raising Daughters to be Feminine
"Will there be Christians on earth after God destroys it with fire, Mommy?" Naomi, 9 years old
"Thank God, O women, for the quietude of your home, and that you are queen it it. Men come at eventide to the home; but all day long you are there, beautifying it, sanctifying it, adorning it, blessing it. Better be there than wear a queen's coronet. Better be there than carry the purse of a princess. It may be a very humble home. There may be no carpet on the floor. There may be no pictures on the wall. There may be no silks in the wardrobe; but, by your faith in God, and your cheerful demeanor, you may garniture that place with more splendor than the upholsterer's hand ever kindled." ---Reverend T. I Work For a King
"I work for a King. He has put me in charge of his home. When He comes to see how I have managed His possessions and His children, I do not want to be found wanting. I want to do my best. Everything I have is on loan from Him. I have room and board and a job to do, but it is all for Him. Therefore I want to dress my best and do my best in all my work. I also want to be creative, for this is a sincere attempt to glorify Him and His beautiful creation. How I manage my home is a form of worship to Him."

Sola Scriptura Bible is the sole written divine revelation and alone can bind the conscience of believers absolutely.
Sola Fide Justification is by faith alone. The full righteousness of Christ imputed to us by faith (comprised of His active and passive obedience) is the sole ground of our acceptance by God, by which our sins are remitted.
Solus Christus Christ is Prophet, Priest and King; the only mediator through whose work we are redeemed.
Sola Gratia Our salvation rests solely on the work of God’s grace for us and in us.
