Idea Organization-Pinterest

I love the idea of being organized but I never liked the thought of having to organize ideas. I have read about women who just loved collecting recipes and pulled out pages from magazines and collecting them all in a journal or scrapbook, but the very thought of doing that just gave me a headache!

Over the years I have realized that I am not a 'detail' person- I am a 'big-picture' person. I don't even like little details such as answering a phone or making a phone call (yes, all those who know me will say this is true!) So when I found out about Pinterest I was intrigued.

Pinterest is a site where I can organize all my ideas for the home, holidays, homeschool, and much more. Not only that but I can do it with images! Did I mention I am a very visual person? I thrive when I can see pictures of what the topic is about, especially beautiful pictures to inspire. Pinterest has a plethora of them.

So I have been over at Pinterest creating some boards and actually using them for planning out my school year, fun crafts, and recipes we will be using for the next few months. It is SOOO easy and much more fun than a magazine---and if you find something you just LOVE online you can just pin it onto your board for easy future reference--how sweet is that?

So hop on over and:

and check out some of the fantastic ideas I have found there like this for homeschooling:

 (love how easy this is!)

or this for fall:

or ideas for a tea:

and we can't forget food:

There's so much to enjoy--
see ya over there!

AND...

if you need an invitation there, leave me your email in the comments and I will personally send you one!

(A caution--there are a few pictures there of women that are immodest, so be careful especially around sons!)

Oh thank you June for sending me over, I requested an invitation immediately! I did love browsing your images especially those images of all the beautiful clothing you have pinned on your board. I love lace and pearls too! It was a few moments of heaven for me. I am wondering how long it takes for your account to be opened and can you follow if you do not have an account?
I also am a big picture and visual person. I see beautiful rooms, recipes, clothes, crafts etc on blogs and then forget where I saw them and have to go hunting in archives. Pinterest is going to save me so much time! Oh and I don't like making phone calls either - you have just reminded me that I need to cancel my husband's dentist appointment right now - just in time before the surgery closes. Phew! And my husband reminded me this morning and I still forgot - so thank you!

We sound a lot alike! :) That's exactly why I finally joined, too. I've found that I get lots of great ideas from my friends, too. They find things I wouldn't have ever found on my own.

Ann,

Yes, we DO sound alike!

I also love the pics on the board-they truly inspire me! :)

As for how long it would take, it might be quick or a couple days--if you would like I can send you a personal invitation and that should be faster. If you leave your email in the comments I will send it out today!

Many blessings...

I just recently discovered Pinterest too and LOVE it!! It's saving me so much space because I was bookmarking every single link that I liked -- and then would forget what I have! Heading over to visit you there now!!

Jennifer,

I was bookmarking links too, but it actually worked against me because it wasn't all in one spot and did not have images.

I would NOT want to take the time to look through them unless I absolutely HAD to. :)

So glad for Pinterest!

Many blessings...

A friend invited me to Pinterest a few weeks ago, and it is so fun! I'm also a very visual person, so even though I had saved links to ideas and projects on my computer before, I would forget about them! Now, I can have pictures to go with everything all in one place--love it!

Hello there!

I'm a long time admirer of your blog. I'm also a Pinterest fan. Enjoying Pinterest got me wanting to blog once again because there is so much loveliness you can share. Like you say there can be some immodesty or even foul language, but I've found a way around that by quickly finding good pinners to follow and gleaning from their boards and not going to the "everything" board unless I can help it. I just started following your board as "tammy" but I go by Mrs. T on my blog.

Thank you June. My invite to join was already in my email. I have started to create my first board which is inspiration for handmade Christmas crackers and I started to follow you of course. It would not accept my name for a while as it kept telling me my name was taken but tried lowercase and that worked. Having to remove all the random suggested boards of people took a little time - wish I hadn't clicked on fashion at the start of the sign up process but one lady had a board of amazing tree house pictures which was wonderful as my husband is presently building a two story tree house. There was one almost identical in design to our one! Can't wait to show him this board tonight and will create my own tree house board later!
Thank you once again for explaining what pinterest was - just wish it was linked to blogger.
I am Ann Franklin on pinterest and my picture is of my daughter (no face shown) holding a basket of mandarins.

thank you for the invite! looks like otherwise you have to wait a long time to get an invite. BUT unfortunately I still can't join.. I stopped using Facebook because it was draining my life and distracting me. Twitter was kinda interesting but again it was just a time-waster for me. I repeat FOR ME (although I think to some extent it isn't the best way to use time unless you have a business type of setup like you do). I hate that so many sites are having facebook hookups.

Great ideas!!
I don't mean this as a complaint, but is there anyway you could have the music player near the top of you side bar so we can choose whether or not to listen to music as we visit your lovely blog. Sometimes I'm listening to something else on my computer and when I open a blog that has music automatically come on, it is sorta of irritating. I hope you know what I mean in what I've said. Thank you for considering this.
Blessings~Becky
